Netherlands Carillion in Arlington a nice, minimal memorial to US effort for European peace

Presented to the US by the Netherlands in gratitude for US efforts for peace in Europe, this was, apparently, the first modern/steel memorial in a city of classical design. Its clean lines cut the sky. I came during the winter, so I saw none of the typical floral color as displayed in the informational panels. All the same, it provides one of the best views of the National Mall this side of the Potomac from the ground. Just down the trail from the USMC Memorial, it's an easy part of a day visiting the sights and sounds of Arlington, the Arlington National Cemetery and the general area.
