So some friends and I took the plunge and went to the infamous "Casa Bonita," a local landmark that plugs itself as the "World's Most Exciting Restaurant." Packed with magic shows, high divers (yes, high divers) and a show involving a monkey, three game arcades and more nooks and crannies than grandma's house in the country.
We were seated in a room downstairs that reminded me more of a Russian Mafia/Italian Restaurant with a small stage, where a very casual magic show was held for the birthday parties being held there. Apparently kids adore Casa Bonita form everyone I've spoken to who's taken their kids there. You order food on your way in and get it on a tray like a high school on Mexican steroids.
The food didn't kill me or make me ill, but I get better at Taco Bell, so don't go for the cuisine, but it's definitely an experience. Our waiter was nice but disappeared for long periods of time. The flag system they use on tables doesn't appear to work very well.
We explored the place and found tons of twists and turns. My friend and I agreed it would make the best paintball range ever, but it's been around for decades and doesn't look to be going anywhere, but if you're looking for a piece of Denver, it's worth trying. At least once.
