George Mason Memorial sparks new interest in unknown founding father

George Mason Memorial sparks new interest in unknown founding father

I passed this place on the way to the Jefferson Memorial and decided to stop on my way out. Entering the small, winterized memorial, it was interesting reading the inscriptions and realizing how much influence Mason had on Jefferson's own writings. You realize this man was foundational to the creation of this nation's constitution and you suddenly want to know more. Despite the very small homage to the "Unknown Founding Father," I left with far more interest than I found at Jefferson's large, gregarious memorial.
