Armament museum outside Fort Walton Beach a cool reminder of great tech in AF

Armament museum outside Fort Walton Beach a cool reminder of great tech in AF

I'm in the Air Force, so it was cool to stop by one Sunday morning to check out the various weapon systems the Air Force has flown in over the years. While not the most comprehensive compliment of aircraft, it was cool to see a wide range of aircraft and the FIRST C-130 ever made, which also was converted to an AC-130 and is currently on display.

I don't think the building was open at that particular hour so I never tried going inside, but it was nice to walk around. Also, my favorite airframe ever -- SR-71 Blackbird -- is on display. There are only a handful available worldwide for viewing.

Overall a good experience. I wouldn't travel far to come see it, though, unless I was just a huge aircraft/Air Force buff.
